As we get closer to the holidays, many of us are looking forward to spending time with our friends, and family.
What is often not talked about, is not wanting to see our family.
It is completely normal, to want to distance yourself from toxic family members.
When I think about a toxic person, I think of a person who is negative in nature, manipulative, abusive, has just never been happy for you, or supported you.
Toxicity is easier to notice in friends, but harder to notice in family members. I believe this is because we often write it off as “that’s just how they are”.
Just because a person is known to be a certain way, doesn’t make it right.
This holiday season, do not feel obligated to interact with anyone, who is not good for you.
