Day 13

Today I am grateful for compassion. It is not something tangible, but it goes a long way. The reactions that I have seen from people around the world, in response to recent natural disasters really moves me. It shows that when others need help, we do not see race, ethnicity, or religious beliefs. We see people. Human beings like us, who need our help. I am looking for ways to volunteer to help those who have been affected. I am very hesitant to donate funds, because I do not see where it is being used. I will start locally by volunteering in my community, and then moving to help those who are further away. Why do jobs not offer paid time off for those who travel to assist others? Instead it is seen as a vacation day, or a day with lost production. What are some ways that you plan on helping those affected by recent natural disasters?
